Emmy Turns Four!

My baby is not so much a baby anymore! She turned four on Wednesday. We partied hard all day long. A bunch of us went to a local water park and swam most of the afternoon. It was a perfect day to hang out it the water, I think the temp. was 94 degrees. After a quick nap and some dinner, we had the neighbors over for a princess party. Emmy loves Cinderella, and wanted everything Cinderella. So that's what the princess got! Cinderella decorations, cake, presents, clothes, crowns, you name it! She is such a little lady. Check out the pics by clicking on the flickr photo box on the side. Notice Jakob has some new specs, compliments of daddy! Isn't he hip?!

The "new" house is coming along. I am in the middle of refinishing all the kitchen cabinets. It hasn't been too bad. The hardest part for me is deciding which color to stain them. They were your typical 80's brown before. I took one door and put a whole bunch of samples on the back, but I still can't decide! The upstairs is pretty much finished. We will redo the upstairs bathroom after the basement is finished. It's always good to have one working bathroom in a house! Because we were honest people and pulled a permit to finish the basement, we have to do some stuff we weren't planning on... like moving the downstairs windows down a whole 4 inches to meet code... I guess it is all for our safety right?! We are ready to put stone on the front, and reside the whole house. Too bad I don't have any pictures of it now, it's such a beautiful shade of teal and brown! I gotta say, I will be glad to see that go!

All else is well here. We plan on being in the new house by the end of August, so Jakob and Hannah can start school in Little Canada at the beginning of the year.

Hope you are all enjoying your summer. I am sad that it is already nearing the end. I hate MN winters! I am already dreading it. Who was the bright ancestor that decided to land here?!
